As an audacious admirer of popular music, I’m as yet not over the way that Camila Cabello left Fifth Amicability in December. The vocalist’s exit from the band wasn’t precisely a perfect one. The four residual ladies in Fifth Amicability—Partner Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui—asserted in an announcement they found out about Cabello’s takeoff through her “delegates,” which is quite chilly. In any case, Cabello hit back with her very own announcement that asserted she and the others had examined her inescapable takeoff a few times. Brooke, Kordei, Jane, and Jauregui, nonetheless, denied this in a second proclamation. As indicated by them, Cabello “cannot” to meet with them to talk about the gathering’s future.
Camila Cabello Bio
She was brought up in Cuba and Mexico
Camila Cabello was born to Alejandro Cabello and Sinuhe Estrabao and on the 3rd of March, 1997 in Cojimar, Eastern Havana, Cuba. Her mother is from Cuba while her father is from Mexico. For her early years, Camila and her family alternated between Havana and Mexico City before they relocated to Miami when she was five.
When Cabello left her school early for singing
Growing up in Miami, Florida, she attended the Miami Palmetto High School but she left school in the 2012-2013 school year to pay more attention to her singing career. However, she made the effort to gain her high school diploma, of which she has been successful.
Career Beginnings and Rise to Fame
Cabello was briefly eliminated from The X Factor
Camilla got her start in the music industry when she auditioned for The X Factor. For her audition, she sang Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’, although the audition never aired because The X Factor was unable to get rights for the song. Unfortunately, she was eliminated during the ‘bootcamp’ stage of the competition. Cabello was initially eliminated during the bootcamp part of The X Factor.
Comeback in the X factor
But, in true One Direction-style, she was soon brought back to form the girl group that would become Fifth Harmony with fellow contestants Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane. The female group would later become popularly known as Fifth Harmony.
Fifth Harmony didn’t actually win the X factor
Fifth Harmony albums
As a member of Fifth Harmony, she released Better Together (an EP), Reflection (an Album) and 7/27 (an album) with the group. Their albums featured hit songs like Worth It and Work From Home. The most successful of these was ‘7/27’ ,which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200.
Break up of Fifth Harmony
During her time in the group, Camilla’s star began to shine and continued to rise over the years. However, on the 18th of December, 2016. Fifth Harmony announced Cabello’s departure from the band on December 18 2016 – but both parties cited contradictory reasons behind her leaving. In a statement to their fans, Fifth Harmony wrote: “We know you are hurt and confused, we are too”, adding that Cabello refused to attend meetings about the future of the group. The band said Cabello’s manager informed them in November that she wanted to leave the group. Cabello, meanwhile, posted: “I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing”
Reasons why Camila cabello left Fifth Harmony
Cabello has collaborated with Canadian artist Shawn Mendes on their hit “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” as well as American rapper Machine Gun Kelly on “Bad Things” as side-projects from Fifth Harmony. “Bad Things” also peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Managment wouldn’t let her take a break
No side projects allowed, they said.
In the back-and-forth since newly minted solo artist Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony, we’ve heard competing stories as to what caused the breakup.
According to 5H’s official statement, Camila went through her reps to quit without warning — after dodging the other members’ efforts to keep the peace. Camila slammed that story as “simply untrue” in an emotional Instagram post to fans.
Now it seems the actual truth may fall somewhere between those two stories.
According to a report by Billboard, Fifth Harmony’s contracts permitted the girls make music as a group and on their own. The group portion of their contracts expired on December 18, an insider from Camila’s team told the magazine, bringing an end to 5H’s album-a-year commitment.
In the weeks leading up to December 18, Camila reportedly pushed for a 5H hiatus, which would have allowed her to focus on solo projects (not unlike what One Direction is doing). On the other hand, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brook Hernandez, and Normani Kordei wanted to strike while the iron was hot and drop another 5H album to capitalize on their mega-successful 2016.
Besides, 5H’s management shot down the hiatus idea, with the source sniping to Billboard that Camila was told that “if she wanted to make any more solo music [while in the band], it wouldn’t work for them.” That likely put Camila in a difficult position, since Billboard reports that she’d been working with Epic Records on a solo album for much of 2016.
Even so, the insider clarified, Camila “did not mean that she wanted to withdraw from the band.”
As for all those therapy sessions and interventions Camila is said to have avoided, she apparently had a reason: The insider claims that group discussions “historically devolve[ed] into a four-against-one scenario — much like the dynamic in the current public battle of statements we are seeing — and were largely unproductive.”
If all this is true, it sounds like the girls simply hit an impasse: Camila wanted time off before cranking out another 5H album, and the rest of 5H didn’t want to wait. Perhaps no one is to blame here — and the girls had little choice but to go their separate ways.
Camila Cabello Says She Left Fifth Harmony Because It “Wasn’t the
Maximum Expression of Me”
“Fifth Harmony wasn’t the maximum expression of me individually,” Cabello told the magazine.
As an unabashed lover of pop music, I’m still not over the fact that Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony in December. (I know it’s been two months, but “Work From Home” just won’t be the same without Cabello’s high notes. How am I suppose to live?!) The singer’s exit from the band wasn’t exactly a clean one. The four remaining women in Fifth Harmony—Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui—claimed in a statement they learned about Cabello’s departure through her “representatives,” which is pretty cold. But Cabello hit back with a statement of her own that claimed she and the others had discussed her inevitable departure several times. Brooke, Kordei, Jane, and Jauregui, however, denied this in a second statement. According to them,Cabello “refused” to meet with them to discuss the group’s future. Messy, messy, messy!
In Cabello’s statement, she briefly touched on why she wanted to leave Fifth Harmony. For her, a solo career is the logical next step on her journey to happiness. “I will be working on my own music and giving you a big chunk of my heart,” she wrote.
This is admittedly vague—but now, Cabello is giving a little more insight into her decision. In a new interview with Seventeen, she reveals why she just wasn’t gelling with Fifth Harmony anymore. And it’s not because she doesn’t like the others any longer. (Sorry, tabloids and trolls.)
Experiments with the individual projects
“My fans are really going to know me from the music I’m writing. My goal is to be brave and open up my soul.”
She added: “I’ll continue to wish [Fifth Harmony] all the best, and I’m happy they are continuing their journey as Fifth Harmony. I’m also looking forward to hearing new music from the group and their solo endeavors.”
There you have it, Harmonizers. According to Cabello, there is no bad blood. This is a simple case of an artist outgrowing her bubblegum pop roots.
This makes total sense, if you think about it. All of the women in Fifth Harmony were soloists on The X-Factor before being assembled into a super group. They had no interest in becoming a band. I’m sure they always planned on eventually splitting to focus on their original dreams of solo superstardom; Cabello is just the first to jump ship. It’s only a matter of time before the four remaining artists start experimenting with individual projects too.
Her debute single after leaving Fifth Harmony underperformed
Cabello has said she was influenced by Latin music during her childhood, and grew up listening to artists like Celia Cruz and Alejandro Fernández.
Following Cabello’s departure from the girl group Fifth Harmony, and after years of writing in her downtime, she began writing songs in earnest for her debut. In November 2016, during a writing session with Blanco, singer-songwriter Sia conceived the concept for a demo, and both composed the song. After Blanco offered her “Crying in the Club”, Cabello rewrote the song’s bridge and recorded the track. “It had a message about healing through the power of music,” she said later, “That theme was a key part of what I wanted for my album.”
“Crying in the Club” was serviced to US contemporary hit radio on May 23, 2017. “The reality of that song is it doesn’t feel or sound like Camila,” Cabello’s manager Roger Gold told The New York Times.
The solo career also gave her a lot of features like on Cashmere Cat’s“Love Incredible,” J Balvin and Pitbull’s “Hey Ma,” and Major Lazer’s “Know No Better” along with American rappers Travis Scott and Quavo.
24k Magic Worls Tour
On July 20th, 2017 she supported the North American leg of Bruno Mars’s “24K Magic World Tour.”
Cabello will open for the “That’s What I Like” singer during the tour’s North American leg, with dates running July 20 to August 22.
The 20-year-old star made the announcement in a string of emotional Twitter messages, writing that she’s “geeked” to be opening for Mars — “every night I’m gonna be peering out from side stage trying to learn as much as I can,” she added.
Camila’s Debute Album
‘Havana’ By Camila Featuring Young Thug
Cabello wrote hit ‘Havana’ while eating sushi
Cabello was eating sushi with producer Frank Dunes when he played her an instrumental piece he had been working on. The track, which featured a distinctive piano riff, reminded Cabello of her home city and she wrote the chorus of what became ‘Havana’ straight away.
Tribute to her home country
Here, Camila Cabello pays tribute to the capital of her home country, Cuba. The pop star moved back and forth between Havana and Mexico City as a child before settling in Miami. She sings about her Cuban heritage and also muses about a former flame she left back in her native land.
A huge success came to Camila
On July 20th, 2017 “Havana” was confirmed as a single from her self-titled debut album on August 30th, 2017 through her Twitter. The song became a commercial and major success becoming her first #1 hit. The track was certified 5x platinum along with diamond certifications in Brazil and France—making Camila the fastest female artist born in the 90s to achieve a diamond certification, doing so in only 5 months.
The song’s success came as a complete surprise to Camila and her team. She told BBC Radio 1 reporter Mark Savage:
“Everybody kept telling me it shouldn’t be a single and that it would never work for radio, and they were like ‘Oh, it’s just another song.’
I’ll Never Be The Same, I definitely want it to be a single but Havana was just kind of – I just wanted to put out songs because I was on tour with Bruno Mars and so that song just had this organic reaction from fans and it ended up becoming a single.”
Changes in the album’s name
Before Camila scrapped the songs initially intended for her debut album, she had been planning to call the record ‘The Healing. The Hurting. The Loving.’ – but, with her new direction, this name went out the window too. On December 4th, 2017, Camila had revealed she changed the title of her debut album from The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving. to Camila.
Camila Breaking The Records
January 12, 2018 marked the release of her solo debut project. Camila debuted at #1 in 100 different countries on iTunes, breaking the record for most #1’s for a debut album. Camila also reached a major milestone on January 21, debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Later on April 12, 2018, the album was certified platinum.
Camila Early Love Life
Camila Cabello’s and Austin Mahone
Camila Cabello dated fellow singer Austin Mahone for a brief period back in 2015 before he claimed that it wasn’t a real relationship in an interview with MTV. Having revealed that he was dating singer Becky G following his split from Camila, Austin added, “It’s crazy, I never had, like, a real relationship before, so it’s pretty crazy.”
That didn’t go down too well with Camila for obvious reasons and shortly after Austin’s comments came to light, Cam tweeted, ‘damn….good to know’.
In more recent times, Austin has spoken highly of Camila and following the release of her music video for ‘Havana’ he told seventeen, “I thought it was really cool. She did a little acting in there, which was dope. She looked really beautiful as well. She’s really doing her thing right now and I’m very, very proud of her.”
Was Camila Cabello dating Jacob Whitesides?
2015 was a bit of a rollercoaster year for Camila Cabello as she was linked to a multitude of eligible batchelors, including none other than singer Jacob Whitesides.
Jacob posted several pics of himself with his pal Camila on social media, but people were quick to suggest there was more to their relationship and even claimed that the pair were locked in a love triangle with Shawn Mendes.
Speaking on a live stream, Jacob claimed, “It’s not like me and her are in a f****** love triangle with Shawn. It’s just so funny, because Twitter thinks like…there’s this massive love triangle between me and Camila and Shawn. That is so not the case.”
“I tweeted one night that I was upset – and everyone just assumed that I was upset because of something that happened on-stage with Shawn and Camilla. That I didn’t even find out about. I don’t care!”
Did Camila Cabello date 5SOS’ Michael Clifford?
The 5 Seconds Of Summer star was spotted out on a dinner date with Camila back in 2015 following her romance with ex Austin Mahone and it wasn’t long before rumours of the pair dating flooded the internet.
After a reported leak of Camila’s iCloud account, messages between the pair appeared to surface revealing a very intimate relationship between the two, but they were never confirmed by either Camila or Michael.
They also shared a pretty pubic flirting sesh on Twitter when 5SOS were on tour with One Direction…
Relationship with Shawn Mendes
Despite consistent rumours of their supposed relationship, Shawn Mendes and the Havana singer have consistently insisted they are just friends. The two have frequently shared certain details of the friendship online, posting photos and sending supportive messages – this occasionally only serves as fuel for their fans who wish they were together.
The pair wrote their hit song, I Know What You Did Last Summer during a Taylor Swift show where they both performed. At the time, Camilla was still with Fifth Harmony and she performed with her band. Since then their relationship has only grown and they both now identify as each other’s BFF.
However, considering how affectionate their relationship is, fans continue to hold out hope that they will eventually get together despite the two regularly dating other people. But to be honest, currently, the possibility of a relationship between the two does not seem that farfetched and is entirely plausible.
Camila Cabello and Louis Tomlinson.
As one of the more wild rumours in Camila’s dating life, Twitter decided that Louis and Cam were in a relationship after they were spotted at Project Club LA together and then leaving at the same time, although they were in different cars.
The hashtag #CongratulationsLouisAndCamila started going round, despite literally no evidence that the pair were a thing and also the fact that Liam was also at the club and was a single man at the time too. Bit of a wild rumour we say.
Who’s Camila’s Current Boyfriend, Is She Dating Anyone?
In January 2018, Camila was confirmed to be in a relationship with noted relationship guru, Matthew Hussey, who is ten years her senior. Matthew is also a British Television personality and writer for Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Matthew Hussey and the pair were first spotted together kissing on a beach back in early 2018. Matthew is a British YouTuber who claims to be ‘the world’s leading dating advice expert for women.’
He’s a published author, having written a book entitled, ‘Get the Guy: Learn Secrets of the Male Mind to Find the Man You Want and the Love You Deserve‘. He also writes for Cosmopolitan, has a life coaching company and presents a radio show in America.
Camila appears to be super into her relationship with Matthew too as she was spotted kissing him before going on stage earlier this year at the Billboard Music Awards.
